Of the apple pies sold, one forth were sold without ice cream. Of the peach pies sold, three-fourths were sold with ice cream. If 360 pies were sold, how many were sold without ice cream?

B. 60

D. 240

This question can be solved methodically.
Total pies = 360
Apple pies = 1/3*(360) = 120
Peach pies = 240
Apple pies without ice cream = 1/4*(120) = 30
Apple pies with ice cream = 120 - 30= 90
Peach pies with ice cream = 3/4*(240) = 180
Peach pies without ice cream = 240-180 = 60

Pies without ice cream = Apple pies without ice cream + Peach pies without ice cream = 30 +60 = 90
