Lets find the firs ratio: 5M/35M = 1/7 Lets find the second one: 11M/121M= 1/11. Now lets calculate the change:

a good formula for calculating change is: (Old-new)/ old==> (1/7-1/11)/(1/7) = 4/11 =~less than 40% ==> option c is the best answer.

5 million as percentage of 35 million = 5*100/35 = 100/7

11 million as percentage of 121 million = 11*100/121 = 100/11

% Decrease = (Final Value - Initial Value)*100/Initial Value = [(100/11)-(100/7)]*100 / (100/7) = 36.36%

Answer: Option C

$5 million as the commission on the first $35 million in sales: \(\frac{5}{35}\) * 100 = \(\frac{100}{7}\)= 14.xx

$11 million as the commission on the next $121 million in sales: \(\frac{11}{121}\) * 100 = \(\frac{100}{11}\) = 9.xx

=> Percent decrease: \(\frac{(9.xx - 14.xx) }{ 14.xx}\) * 100

=> Percent decrease: \(\frac{(9 -14) }{ 15}\) * 100 = \(\frac{-5}{15}\) * 100 = 33.33% close to C
