C

to convert 41400 km/hr into m/s just multiply (41400*1000)/3600= 11500 m/s

1000 meters = 1 km

1hr = 60*60 secs..

( 41400 * 1000 ) / 60 * 60 => 11500.

IMO option C.

km/hour = 1000m/3600 sec thus the multiplier is 1000/3600 = 5/18

41400 *5/18 = 11,500m/s

41,400 kmph = 41.400*1000/60*60 meters per sec = 11500 meters per sec

We are given that a rocket is launched at 41,400 kilometers per hour, and we need to determine the speed of the rocket in meters per second.

We need to convert kilometers to meters and hours to seconds. We recall that 1,000 meters = 1 kilometer and 3,600 seconds = 1 hour. Thus:

41,400 km = 41,400 x 1,000 = 41,400,000 meters

Thus, the rate in meters per second is:

41,400,000/3,600 = 11,500 m/sec

$$41400*\frac{5}{15}$$ = $$11500$$

Answer will be (C) $$11500 \ meters/second$$

speed( m/s) = 5/18*speed(km/h) = 5/18* 41400 = 11500 m/s. Option C

I think the challenge is to solve the question in less than 2 minutes without a calculator.
Dividing 4140000 meters by 3600 sec can take a bit of time.

Fast way: (41400*1000)/3600 = (414*1000)/(9*4) = (414/4)*(1000/9)
Mental approximation: (414/4) first leg is around 111 and (1000/9) second leg is around 100
Result must be around 11,100 answer. the closest answer choice is C. All the others are too far.
