1. Determine the commission for the first 100 machines => USD 10'000*100*3% = USD 30'000
=> Since commission earned is greater than USD 30'000, the number of machines sold must exceed 100.

2. Subtract total commission earned from commission earned on the first 100 machines => USD 36'000 - USD 30'000 = USD 6'000 ("additional comission")

3. Divide additional comission by comission earned on each additional machine (i.e. in excesss of first 100) sold
=> USD 6'000 / (USD 10'000*4%) = 15

4. Determine total number of machines sold => 100 + 15 = 115

IMO C...

First 100 machines = 3% commission = 0.03*100*10000 = 30000
Commission from sale of next machines = 36000 - 30000 = 6000
So 15 more machines..

Total = 115 machines
