A sealed tank is constructed so that liquid can be added to the tank only through pipe X and taken from the tank only through pipe Y. If the tank contains 10,000 gallons of liquid, how long will it take to reduce the amount of liquid to 1200 gallons?

(1) Pipe Y removes liquid from the tank 8 times as fast as pipe X adds liquid to the tank.

(2) Pipe X adds 50 gallons of liquid to the tank per minute while pipe Y removes 400 gallons of liquid from the tank per minute.

Option A: Pipe Y removes liquid from the tank 8 times as fast as pipe X adds liquid to the tank.
This option gives us ratio , but we do not have enough information to calculate how long it would take for 2 machines to reduce capacity to 1200 gallons - Insufficient.

Option B: Pipe X adds 50 gallons of liquid to the tank per minute while pipe Y removes 400 gallons of liquid from the tank per minute.
This option gives us enough information to calculate. - Sufficient.
