this is not right .cricket test matches are played for 5 days (not just on one one day ,i know its weird ) so we need "from" not "on"

So it is correct to say that the game will be played BETWEEN March 22th - 27th so that the typical person who has no idea what is cricket does not feel confused ))

that will give the wrong notion that game will not be played on 22nd !! "from" is perfect in such usage when we want the time to span right from 22nd!!

honestly even GMAT is guilty of assuming lot of stuff when putting question in verbal !! at times its best known by gmat writers which modifier is modifying what !!
or gmat uses the word "providence" referring to a place in America when someone (not knowing it ) might think it as another word providence .

Well, actually it will not be played on 22th. As you said, it will be played for five days, therefore between 22th and 27th.

All I am saying is that, grammatically speaking, it is unacceptable to put from before a single date. You may communicate with your friends like this. I am sure it makes perfect sense when comes to cricket, but not on the GMAT

Since this is not a GMAT question persay and has been published by cricinfo.com, i am not sure why are we even debating on its correctness. Having said that, test match can/cant be played on a day. Imagine both teams getting all out for so low score that 4 innings close in a single day. Funny, but well.. anything is possible in cricket!
