THe price of the table = cost price+profit=selling price.

profit=40% of original price.
let cost price be x then selling price = x+40x/100 ==100
A clearly gives the cost price.

B does not give the cost price becuae we don't know if the table was purchased on Tuesday.

Final answer=A

Sometimes retailers such as " Bella Home Furnishings " purchase a product at a whole sale price, then they increase the price up to a certain percentage and then offer a discount on the retail ( marked up ) price.How can we be sure from statement A that there was no discount in the retail ( marked up) price? and that the marked up price was indeed the selling price ?
