Let the length of the train be 'x'

Note that length of the train will be included in the distance traveled

1st Platform

Rate = \( \frac{Distance}{Time}\)

i.e \(\frac{x + 400}{ 6}\) ....(1)

2nd Platform

Rate = \(\frac{x+ 600}{8}\)....(2)

From 1 & 2, we get

\(\frac{x + 400}{6}\) = \(\frac{x + 600}{8}\)

By solving the equation, we get x = 200

Hence the answer must be D
