Let the length of the train be 'x'

Note that length of the train will be included in the distance traveled

1st Platform

Rate = $$\frac{Distance}{Time}$$

i.e $$\frac{x + 400}{ 6}$$ ....(1)

2nd Platform

Rate = $$\frac{x+ 600}{8}$$....(2)

From 1 & 2, we get

$$\frac{x + 400}{6}$$ = $$\frac{x + 600}{8}$$

By solving the equation, we get x = 200

Hence the answer must be D
