I think it is E.. I haven't come across a statement ending with I..

The assignment will be taken up by whome? "me" not "I" ... because in the sentence above I/me is receiving the verb; therefore, I is wrong.

Read it like this - "...given to" whom? If the answer is me, then consider an answer choice with "me" in it.

"I" is a subjective pronoun and "me" is an objective pronoun.

Hence - E
