Every advance in the quality of manufactured products
raises cusomer expectations. The company that is
satisfied with the current quality of its products wil soon
find that its customers are not. At MegaCorp, meeting
or exceeding customer expectations is our goal.

Which of the following must be true on the basis of the statements in the

A) MegaCorp's competitors will succeed in attracting customers only if those competitors adopt MegaCorp's goal as their own.

B)A company that does not correctly anticipate the expectations of its customers is certain to fail in advancing the quality of its products.

C)MegaCorp's goal is possible to meet only if continuing advances in product quality are possible.

D)If a company becomes satisfied with the quality of its products, then the quality of its products is sure to decline.

E)MegaCorp's customers are currently satisfied with the quality of its products.

the statement says 2 things.

1.Advances in quality raises the quality standards and customers expect the products to meet those standards.
2.The meeting was to meet or exceed the expectation.

the inference that can be made is the goal of the company is possible only if the advances in the quality of products is possible..

going by the golden rule of infer as little as possible.. this option is correct..

I go for D.

My reasoning is as follows:

Today's customers expect high quality.
Every advance in the quality of manufactured products
raises cusomer expectations.
This means for every advancment in quality there is an increase in expectation. (Cause and effect)

The company that is
satisfied with the current quality of its products wil soon
find that its customers are not.
This means that Companies who are happy with their products and not motivated to improve the quality will customer's soon perceiving their products to be of lower quality.

Hence D The company that is
satisfied with the current quality of its products - and chooses not to impriove the quality- will surely decline.
find that its customers are not.
