Hi Jennifer,
Firstly, thanks for evaluating profiles of and helping so many prospective students on the forum!
I'd appreciate if you could advise me something on my profile too. Here are my details:
1. I am 25 (Indian, Male), 3yrs work experience (so far) as an SAP Business Intelligence Consultant in Retail and Manufacturing domains. International experience of almost 1 year. Started working as an Independent consultant very early in my career.
2. Part of the Pre-sales team, supporting bids across the globe for SAP BI and having won a major strategic contract in Australia. Also part of the Marketing team, having led an initiative to promote content led through social media at the all India level for my employer organization, placing it in a good position for attracting talent across the Indian BI (Analytics) market.
3. GMAT - 690 (second attempt) AWA 5.5. First attempt went horrible as I was sick and could not postpone my exam
4. I've done my graduation from Mumbai University, major in Information Technology, from one of the top 5 Engineering colleges in Mumbai. I am not sure whether it's right for us to calculate GPA as it does not weigh us correctly against other colleges or universities fairly. But I have had a first class (more than 60%) throughout college and stood in the top 25% of my college for the aggregated scores for 4yrs.
5. I am a certified Financial planner, having cleared Advisor's module from AMFI (Association of Mutual funds in India) with Distinction. I am also planning to get Six-sigma Yellow Belt certified next month.
6. Target Programs - NTU, NUS, ISB; Concentrations: Strategy and Finance/Entrepreneurship/Operations mgmt. I need to give a final thought on the last one. Class of 2012
7. Post-MBA goal - Career switch to work in a Consumer goods (Retail) or Manufacturing company for at least 2-3 years.
I am planning to apply to NTU and NUS this year.. What chances do you see? I'd really appreciate if you have any other suggestions to make.
Thanks!
While your GPA seems fine - and yes, your GPA is understood based on the institution you attended and your position in the class, your GMAT seems a bit low for ISB and I think you may be a bit young for NUS and NTU. It's not impossible to earn a spot in the class when you're young, but your application will have to prove that you have interesting experiences to share and the maturity to fit into the student body.
