Dear Experts,

I need your valuable advice for the optional essay of school applications. I am confused about the same. Should I mention my achievements/awards/extracurricular in the optional essay? I scored badly in my first attempt of GMAT because of center problem. GMAC acknowledged the same and offered me the free test. So, should i elaborate the reason of bad score in first attempt in the optional essay?

Your advice will be helpful in writing the essays.

My details: GMAT: 710
Exp: 8+ years in project management of Oil & Gas company
Target schools: ISB, IIMs, Duke, Mccombs, Rice

Without enough knowledge of your profile, it is difficult to advise what should you write in your optional essay.

You have already scored 700+ in your GMAT, so there is no need to mention your previous bad score in your optional essay.

No. That would be a waste of space. Plus you would be pointing out your bad score. Why do that, when you got such a nicer score later??????

Use your optional essay for something that will boost your profile more.
