I pick A...but ritesh's point is key which I didnt realize... from X to Y...

I was just reading the sentence and found nothing wrong with it...

infact...as ritesh points out, from X to Y is the right idiom.....

one more to chalk on the idiom list...

I'm thinking D) here since the the nations semi conductor industry is singular. (i.e. it has vs. they have)

Correct me if I'm wrong.....

Correct me if I'm wrong.....

That would be true if we were using the verb in the present tense. As it is, the verb "to have" is in the infinitive tense. So "appears to have" is correct. If we were saying that the industry "has" made a comeback, then "has" and not "have" would be correct.
