Hello,
In the CR folder of the zip file there are four doc. files. Are they according to difficulty level or just random level questions?

Hi carcass,

The files in the zip folder seems to be damaged or not supported. I can only open the DS questions, rest PS, and entire verbal folder is not opening. Kindly share the updated versions! Thanks!

Hi carcass. A million thanks to you for your work. I just had a couple of questions.

1. You had posted this in late 2014. Since then, has anyone updated your files to include questions from the later versions of Gmatprep software?
2. Souvik101990 had created a few threads by the name of 'the most comprehensive collection of everything' for the verbal section. He, too, had extracted questions from the Gmatprep software itself. Are the questions provided by him included in the zip file provided by you?

Your questions are clever.

1) The collection is made on the old version of the software. The new one you can download from mba.com, sincerely, I didn't scan whether there is an overlap among the questions. But considering the consistent amount of questions in the collection is reasonable to think yes to some extent. The exactly quantum I do not know.

2) As for the collection of souvik the answer is in a similar fashion. Yes, for sure he took the questions from official material (OGs, old or new GMATPrep software and so n).

The clues for what I am saying is confirmed by the fact if you launch the new software and take the default 2 practice tests soon after, the layout of the same is the old one software.

Actually, the GMAC made the new software with new features to track your progress and other things but at the core is the same software. I do think there is a huge question overlap.

Take what I said with a grain of salt, of course

Regards

Thanks a lot. The effort is highly appreciated.
I have a few queries, would be of great help if anyone can clarify these:
For the following files in SC folder: in SC_1_1; SC_1_2 -There are a total of 258 questions from GMAT perp-1 and in SC_2_1 and SC_2_2- there are a total of 235 Questions. So the total pool of Questions comes to 493 Question. Now there is another file: GPSC_Q&A Seperated- which has 186 Questions. What is this file for?
Does SC_1 & SC_2 contain additional questions which are not in GMAT- Prep-1 and 2??
I want to Practice only GMATPrep-1 questions for SC

Do the quant questions seem very easy to anyone else? I struggle mightily with the GMATClub CATs, but these questions seem to be very straightforward. Is there that large of a difference in GMATClub CATs and the actual GMAT? Or are these just very easy questions from the exams and not representative of the questions on the actual GMAT?

How are they easy or not representative ??

I suppose I could’ve been a little more clear. What I was trying to say was, is the difficulty (or lack-thereof) of these questions actually representative of the difficulty of the questions on the GMAT exam. Its entirely possible that these are a very easy subset of questions in the GMATPrep question bank. If that were the case, then the Difficulty of the quant portion GMAT in its entirety wouldn’t be accurately represented by these questions. However, I suspect that you know this is the point I was trying to make....

Thanks for responding. I did review previous posts but didn’t see anything regarding the overall difficulty level of these questions. No matter, I was just curious because they seemed much easier than the GMATClub and Magoos questions that I’ve practiced with.

Answering official GMAT quant questions often doesn't require much math knowledge. As long as you understand things like basic algebra, how to manipulate fractions, and some basic geometry facts, you know everything in terms of math that you need to know in order to answer many or even most official quant questions. Further, even in the cases of questions of the more advanced types, such as permutations or advanced overlapping sets, the math and calculations necessary for answering them tend to be pretty simple.

At the same time, however, official GMAT quant questions can be rather tricky. For instance, an inequality based question can be based on a relatively simple inequality and yet have a twist that makes getting the right answer tricky.

Many practice quant questions are more mathematically complex than most official quant questions or are such that answering them requires taking more steps or doing more calculating than is required for answering official questions.

So, if you are skilled at seeing the angles, or tricks, in official quant questions, they can seem rather straightforward or even easy, because you don't need to do much calculating or deal with much math, and they can be way easier for you than some practice questions.
