All the pronouncements made by critics questioning the importance of Charles Bukowski's poetry should get less of our attention than the poetry itself does, but this is probably impossible until a date far in the future, for time alone constructs the true literary canon, but not a group of critics contemporary to the work.

A. alone constructs the true literary canon, but not a group of critics contemporary to the work.
B. alone and not a group of critics contemporary with the work constructs the true literary canon.
C. alone constructs the true literary canon, a group of critics not contemporary to the work.
D. alone, not a group of critics contemporary with the work, constructs the true literary canon.
E. alone, rather than a group of critics who are contemporaries of the work, that constructs the true literary canon.

b. It should be time alone but not b

B-B is close but with subject work agreement error. A alone and not B constructs...
C- same as A
D-correct
E- awkward and wordy. Use of rather than indicates a preference or choice over another option, the usage which is wrong herr.
