I see that D weakens the argument, however I found B having the same impact.

It says fewer ppl are moving out of cities now..that means they are where major of the pollution is.
In earlier time..ppl used to move out n go to non urqban areas where pollution was less and thus fewer ppl used to get infected.
Conclusion :- no effect in non urban pollution..

Please explain where I am i wrong?

But here, you are assuming that people are moving out of cities because of air pollution. There is no link between air pollution and people's moving out out !!

No m not assuming that they are moving out coz of the pollution...lets say they are moving out just to be with their parents who live in non urban areas.

WHy option E is wrong?

I chose option E sinceumber of persons suffereing from illlness attributed to the excessive air pollution increases and hence the people in non-urban areas are also affected now
Option E says that non-urban cities have taken enough measures to control this pollution and hence weakens the argument right? Please explain

hi,

here the conclusion is :NON URBAN AREAS ARE AFFECTED.
PREMISE: NUMBER OF PEOPLE SUFFERING FROM AIR POLLUTION ILLNESS HAS INCREASED.
author is assuming that some increse belongs to NON URBAN AREAS.
now if you say:non-urban areas have passed strict pollution control measures==> does this tells anything THAT no people are suffering from air pollution illness.
STRICT MEASURES DOESNT MEAN THAT THE PEOPLE ARE COMPLETELY FREE FROM THAT AILMENT.So its not weakening the conclusion.

HOPE IT HELPS.

Then according to OA which is D
D-Many illnesses previously thought unrelated to air pollution are now considered to be caused by it
Which implies now many illness are related to air pollution then there are more chance for people in non-urban areas to get affected by it right? This strengthens the conclusion isn't it?

NO it is not.
see argument is a type of causal argument:X causes Y
number of people affected has increased==>therefore urban places are affected now.

IN this type of argument when author assumes that X is the ONLY cause of Y . you can weaken the argument by providing the alternate reasoning.
so if we say that number of affected people has increased because many people who were ill and were thought that that illness was not related to air pollution ,BUT now those illness comes under air pollution illness category ....so this will lead to increase in number of people who are affected compared to previous years.
so this is giving an alternate explanation,....for the increase in number..which might belong to cities population only as it is already stated in argument that earlier ONLY cities were affected and not the urbans.
hence this weakens.

hope it helps
