D.

The underlined section requires "there are". Hence, only options left are A, C and D.

In C, "but" is not required. In A, there is issue of parallelism.

On first look I chose C.. but went for D.

A- either X or Y.. X and Y are not parallel
B -not a complete statement.

Initially thought contrast is required, but we don't require.
First statement talks about types of museums.
Second statement talks about timinngs of msuemes.
"and " is appopriate.
C - out becuase of contrast "but"
E is out.. changes the original meaning.

D looks good.

good one.

A,B are out because of modifier issue.

Sentence starting with a 'Although' will be subordinate clause which will modify the modify the main clause.

Here in this Question, subordinate clause is trying to modify main clause in A and B. But couldn't find correct noun.

C - But is not required.
E - changes the meaning by misplacing the modifers.

D Wins

SEE MY POST ABOVE.
First statement talks about types of museums.
Second statement talks about timinngs of museums

there is no connection between first and second statment. So we don't require contrast here.. conjuction "and" is appropriate.

Hi mates,

I'd go with C

Because there are is required, B and E out

A out because the grammar structure is "either ... or ...." with the two parts parallel. The right way would be "are devoted to either local history or various ethnic groups"

Between C and D, I choose D because it has the same meaning that using Althoug at the beginning

Quote:
(A) Although dozens of New York's small museums are either devoted to local history or various ethnic groups, there are

(B) Although dozens of New York's small museums are devoted to local history or various ethnic groups,

(C) Dozens of New York's small museums are devoted to local history or various ethnic groups, but there are

(D) Dozens of New York's small museums are devoted to local history or various ethnic groups, and there are also

(E) Devoted to local history or various ethnic groups, dozens of New York's small museums and also

OA and Source?

Cheers
