In A, modifier error exists. It seems 'classical scholars' are mentioned in Plato's dialogues. We actually need to show that the 'legend of Atlantis' is mentioned in Plato's dialogues

A doesn't make any sense. Read answer choice A and ask yourself does it make any sense.

A. Although mentioned in Plato’s dialogues --> What is mentioned in the dialogues - The scholars is the wrong answer

B. Despite being mentioned in Plato’s dialogues --> What is mentioned in the dialogues - The scholars is the wrong answer + Usage of being

C. Having been mentioned in Plato’s dialogues --> What is mentioned in the dialogues - The scholars is the wrong answer

D. Although receiving mention in Plato’s dialogues --> What is mentioned in the dialogues - The scholars is the wrong answer

E. Although Plato mentioned it in his dialogues - On a first read this might seem wrong. Read the second part of the sentence and then read the first. You will understand that 'it' has an antecedent. Also pronoun ambiguity is the last reason to throw an answer choice out. Hence E is the right answer.

A states as if the Scholars blah blah . This whole stuff is mentioned by plato. I don't think this is logical
I chose E because of this reason.
"it" refers to legend . only singular noun .
E is best

Subject is not mentioned here...

Plato's dialogues can be stated by Plato , Shakespeare , Einestine or any other person..

(E) Corrects that error...

What is mentioned in Plato's dialogues?????? Classical Scholars or Legend of Atlantis

I guess your answer would be Legend of Atlantis.
Option A is conveying that Classical Scholars are mentioned in Plato's Dialogues, an incorrect meaning

E

A is plain wrong, "Although [it was] mentioned in Plato’s dialogues" - subject + verb missing in the sub-ordinate clause, but still E will win over by A, because A is passive.
