+1 B.

A. Although the Broadway musical known as "Hair" contained nudity, strong language, and portrayed anti-war messages, it opened in London only one day after the abolition of theater censorship in 1968-wrong parallelism among the marked ones.

B. Although the Broadway musical known as "Hair" contained nudity, strong language, and anti-war messages, in 1968 it opened in London, only one day after the abolition of theater censorship-looks fine hold

C. Although the Broadway musical known as "Hair" contained nudity, strong language, and anti-war messages, yet it opened in London only one day after the abolition of theater censorship in 1968-parallelism part is ok but the use of although and yet makes it the wrong contender. The right usage is although X,Y.

D. The Broadway musical known as "Hair" contained nudity, strong language, and portrayed anti-war messages, yet it opened in London only one day after the abolition of theater censorship in 1968-wrong parallelism among the marked ones and the same error as in C

E. Although the Broadway musical known as "Hair" contained nudity, strong language, and anti-war messages, still it opened in London in 1968, only one day after the abolition of theater censorship-parallelism part is fine but the use of the word still changes the meaning. So wrong choice

So B is the right choice

this question comes from economist gmat.
"in 1968" is a common and important pattern in gmat.

Option A.
B has incorrect usage of subordinate-conjunction "Although" by introducing "in 1968..." after comma.

Hi Rahul,

Option A is not parallel:

Although the Broadway musical known as "Hair" contained nudity, strong language, and portrayed anti-war messages, it opened in London only one day after the abolition of theater censorship in 1968

If there would have been an "and" in between, it could have made sense. As we always have "and" before the last item in the list.

I am still not clear as to what is the correct answer. Option B changes the meaning slightly. Doesn't it?

Please explain option A, B and D in detail.

Hi folks,

Can anyone answer me what the hack "Broadway musical opened in London" means? Shouldn't it be "was opened"?

When a play or movie "opens," that just means it began showing. So we say "The new Star Wars movie opens next year December" or "The play opened to great reviews." (The latter means that when the play began showing, it immediately received great reviews.)
