Like Danaxil, all headache pills can stop your headache. But when you are in pain, you want relief right away. Danaxil is for you-no headache pill stops pain more quickly. Evelyn and Jane are each suffering from a headache. Suppose Evelyn takes Danaxil and Jane takes its leading competitor.

Which one of the following can be properly concluded from the claims in the advertisement?

(A) Evelyn’s headache pain will be relieved, but Jane’s will not.

(B) Evelyn’s headache pain will be relieved more quickly than Jane’s.

(C) Evelyn’s headache will be relieved at least as quickly as Jane’s.

(D) Jane’s headache pain will be relieved at the same time as is Evelyn’s.

(E) Jane will be taking Danaxil for relief from headache pain.

(E) is tempting, but it doesn't provide a comparison. Jane could be using Danaxil for another reason other than quick relief.

In (B), we get the comparison that shows Danaxil reliefs headache much quickly than any other headache pils. So this is the best answer.

(A) Evelyn’s headache pain will be relieved, but Jane’s will not.
Definately not supported by the stimulus, we don't know anything about Janes medicine (Except that at best it relieves pain equally as fast as Danaxil)

(B) Evelyn’s headache pain will be relieved more quickly than Jane’s.
SUCKER CHOICE! Close, but not the answer.

(C) Evelyn’s headache will be relieved at least as quickly as Jane’s.
This is the answer. If no pain killer works better than danaxil, is still possible that a pain killer works AS WELL AS Danaxil.

(D) Jane’s headache pain will be relieved at the same time as is Evelyn’s.
May be true, but not supported.

(E) Jane will be taking Danaxil for relief from headache pain.
Definitely not supported!

C is the answer.

(C) leaves the questionf of whether a pill can match danaxil in terms of relief effectiveness. This isn't what we want. We need a choice that supports the claim of the advertistement. In this respect, the choice must leave no doubt that it stops pain more quickly. See the stimulus, Danaxil must be unmatched in performance. So (B) gives you that, minus all the niggling questions.

I still disagree. Danaxil is for you-no headache pill stops pain more quickly.

Think of it mathamaticallly. No number is greater than X. This leaves the possibility of a number being X.

If Y doesn't stop pain faster than Danaxil, but equal to it, the stimilus is still correct.

C is right...SigEpUCI has a point. B is a typical trap answer. The ad of danaxil is not claiming - ONLY Pill that relieves headache faster or the fastest headache releiver.

I knew B was a trap but still could not make up the mind that C should be it.

Def C. There is nothing in the argument that says a competitor pill cannot be as good as Danaxil.

B is too easy to arrive to. Doesnt meant that you should elim easy to arrive at answers, but be very critical of these answer choices.

so its 10 AM and im at work ... and i got this one wrong; fell for B. Although I cant quite eliminate B.

To me, the argument says that Danaxil and the other pill with both cure the headache, but the Danaxil one works faster. I concluded that that must meant that Janes headache will be relieved quicker than the other girl's. Where am I going wrong ?

i believe the cruicial phrase in this CD is "no headache pill stops pain more quickly"

this means that no pill is better, but some pill can be equally as good. so the only thing that can be properly concluded is C (incase Jane was using an equivalent "best" pill)

should be c

question says "no other pill stops pain more quickly"

so panixil should be as quickly as other pills.

Good one!

I was confident on B until I scrolled to the very end. Mathematic comparison makes it easier to understand.
