$25 per packet of gasket in case a customer orders less than 10
in case a customer orders > 10 price per gasket = 25*4/5=20
a certain week the supplier sold 60 gasket
1.he sold 20 % of the gaskets to X = 12 gaskets = 25*10 + 20 *2 = 250 + 40 = 290
2.he sold 15 % of the gaskets to Y = 9 gaskets = 25*9= 225
3.he sold remaining 65% to z =39 gaskets = 25*10 =250 + 20*29=830

thus ,total money earned

290+225+580+250 = 1345

Number of Gaskets sold to

Company X = \(\frac{1}{5} * 60 = 12\)
Company Y = \(\frac{15}{100} * 60 = 9\)
Company Z = \(60 - (12+9) = 39\)

Total Price = Price Charge to Company X + Company Y + Company Z
\(= (10*25 + 20*2 ) + (9*25) + (10*25 + 29*20)\\
= (25 (10+9+10) + 20 (2+29))\)
\(= 25 * 29 + 20 * 31\\
= 725 + 620\\
=1345\)

No. of products to X = 20% of 60 =12
No. of products to Y = 15% of 60 = 9
No. of products to Z = 39

Dollars form X = 10*25 + 2*4/5*25 = 290
Dollars from Y = 9 *25= 225
Dollars from Z = 10*25+29*4/5*25 = 830

Total dollars = 290+225+830=1345

Solution:

We see that Company X received 60 x 0.2 = 12 packages of gaskets, Company Y 60 x 0.15 = 9 packages, and Company Z 60 - 12 - 9 = 39 packages. Since both companies X and Z ordered more than 10 packages, each package in excess of 10 was charged 25 x 4/5 = $20. Therefore, the total amount of money the supplier received from the three companies is:

(25 x 10 + 20 x 2) + (25 x 9) + (25 x 10 + 20 x 29)

290 + 225 + 830 = $1345
