Assuming X pounds of Food A and Y pounds of Food B.
We have two variables X and Y and two equations per below:

X + Y = 50----------------------------------(1)
0.30X + 0.1Y = 11 => 3X + Y = 110-----(2)

Subtract (2) from (1)
3X + Y - (X + Y) = 110 - 50 => 3X + Y -X - Y = 60 => 2X = 60 => X = 30

If question was how many pounds of Food B is consumed.

Put value of X in equation (1)
Y = 50 - X = 50 - 30 = 20

0.3x+ 0.1(50-x) = 11
Solving x = 30

I solved it by the following method,

let a and b be 100lbs each, so a has 30 lbs and b 10 lbs fat.

so for 50 lbs of A & B has 15 lbs and 5 lbs fat.
using the allegation method,

w1/w2 = 5-11/11-15 = 6/4= 3/2

so A = 30 lbs.

is this method correct?
