Can some one explain Question 1 and its answer choice?! :x :x

1. According to the passage, which of the following is true about the Space Lab experiment conducted in 1983?
Here the author is asking which of the following statements is true about the space lab experiment conducted in 1983.....

(A) It was the first experiment to take place in the microgravity environment of space.we dont know if this is the first experiment in space environment. Passage mentions first attempt to grow protein crystals in the low-gravity environment of space.
(B) It was the first experiment in which researchers in space were able to grow lysozyme protein crystals greater in size than those grown on Earth. This choice says this was the first time the researchers were able to grow protein in space and have failed other times when the experiment was carried out...
(C) Its results have been superseded by subsequent research in the field of microgravity protein crystal growth. The second paragraph last line says no further experiment in this was carried out.
(D) Its results are still considered by some to be evidence for the advantages of microgravity protein crystal growth.Line 2 in passage "That experiment is still cited as evidence that growing crystals in microgravity" exactly implies this.
(E) Its results are considered by many to be invalid because nonstandard techniques were employed. Not mentioned in passage that results were considered invalid.

Hope this explains.... :)

I got thrown off by the word "Advantage" in option D. The passage does not indicate any kinda advantage from the experiment. The passage though indicates that evidences from the experiment are used to decide whether such experiments are practical or not.

But I did get lured to option B and ended up selecting it. I guess option D is best among the worst.

The passage Line 2 says "growing crystals in microgravity can increase crystal size......grew lysozyme protein crystals 1,000 times larger than crystals grown in the same device on Earth" which is a advantage of microgravity.

Para 1 Line 2 states: growing crystals in microgravity can increase crystal size: the authors reported that they grew lysozyme protein crystals 1,000 times larger than crystals grown in the same device on Earth.
Para1 line 3 states: the authors of exp did not point out that their crystals were no larger than the average crystal grown using other, more standard techniques in an Earth laboratory
Para2 line 2 states:To get an unbiased view of the usefulness of microgravity crystal growth, crystals grown in space must be compared with the best crystals that have been grown with standard techniques on Earth.

now lets analyze the choices considering the above three points:
(A) Although the results of the experiment are impressive, the experiment was too limited in scope to allow for definitive conclusions. This is the correct one...
(B) The results of the experiment are impressive on the surface but the report is misleading.Refering to Para1 line 3 we can say results were drawn without comparing the output of other methods(limited scope) that does not mean the report is misleading...
(C) The results of the experiment convincingly confirm what researchers have long suspected. It is not mentioned in passage what researchers suspected b4 the experiment
(D) Because of design flaws, the experiment did not yield any results relevant to the issue under investigation. No design flaws are discussed in experiment.
(E) The results of the experiment are too contradictory to allow for easy interpretation. Its never mentioned that the results of exp are contradictory
