i know traditionally you could add 60-100 points to a Kaplan diagnostic/cat but i read in a few places that they adjusted their algorithms in 2010 to make it very accurate but then i also read that their reading comprehesion is still much tougher than the official gmat

does anyone know the truth?

From what I've heard, the new Kaplan exams grade substantially easier than the real thing.

Take GMATPrep or MGMAT to get a real idea. Heck, even Princeton Review will give you a fairly accurate score! Anything but Kaplan!

Not sure where you've heard this, but it's not the case. You may be confusing our CATs with our free sample tests, which are not adaptive because they are designed to give students a sense of what GMAT questions are like and what students need to work on. As a consequence, they aren't as accurate as our CATs. But our CATs are adaptive, and recently retooled to be even more accurate than ever.

Let me know if you have any other questions!

I agree Kaplan CAT 4,5 & 6 are easier than 1,2 & 3
