I wouldn't no. I'm not doing it FOR the money, but I wouldnt do it if I had a negative ROI. I can think of more interesting things to do with negative ROIs

Like the others, I am pretty sure I wouldnt do it if not for the money but at the same time that is not my primary motivation.

Although I do wonder if business education would be as expensive if not for the ROI.

Both..

Obviously money is one of the factors :-D

.. but then there are lots of other nice things which you get outta your mba, like gettin to meet new people and experiencing diferent cultures while competing rigorously to make your mark amongst your peers and ur school.

As rhyme said, it also depends on the roi..

I'd still consider doing it for at least a couple of reasons; the knowledge and leverging an MBA as a stepping stone into the teaching world after working for 15~20 years. Ultimately, (in our 50s or 60s) teaching younger students can be just as (intrinsically) rewarding as running our own businesses. keep in mind, an MBA is essentially a master's degree, a degree that meets the minimum requirements to lecture at most community colleges and even some universities. Teaching, at least in my opinion, is a noble profession and great way to give back to the community.

hmmm...i can chime in as someone who is not likely to make much after b-school. I am a non-profiteer. If I hit $100k, I will be doing very well for myself. So I am not doing it for the money, but for the experience and the knowledge. On the other hand, I am also very very keen on attending a school that has a loan repayment assistance program for bleeding hearts like me.

I would still get my MBA.

Most of the professors I had in JC were better than the professors I had at UCLA.

Teaching part-time at a JC is something I would like to do.

My real long term goal? Teach business somewhere.

An MBA is a step in that direction. A PHD would be better.

What about the reason that you are so bored with your job that you would do anything to get away.

And if something much better (MBA) comes along, why not?

LoL thats a good one - I know a lot of people that go for exactly that reason. For me its a little of everything, money, boredom at work, the desire for a new academic challenge, meeting new people etc.

I'll do it for several reasons (some of them mentioned such as money and then teaching) but, right now, I am doing it as an unemployment insurance.

I know that when all hell breaks loose back home (typically every 10 to 15 years) I will have much better chances with an MBA title.

Okay so you open a vortex into the Nth dimension, but which world are you talking about. Once the vortex opens you don't know how many worlds will creep in.
