n = 10.
Series : 23,20,17,14,11,8,5,2,-1,-4 using the formula given. t2 = 23-3 = 20 and so on..

Same answer, using one of the sequence formulas: tn = t1 + (n-1)d ("d" = difference, here equals to "-3")

-4 = 23 + (n-1)(-3)
-27 = -3n + 3
n = 10
