E.
The question tests pronoun usage and idioms.
If we compare A and B, the first spilt is ‘based in’ vs based on. The correct idiom is based on. Eliminate A.
If we compare B, D and E, B says insight to while the other two say ‘insight into’. The correct idiom is insight to. So eliminate B.

b/w D and E, D is wrong because it says development as a child. The logical meaning should be development of a child.

C puts which in the wrong place, as it modifies child whereas it should modify the theories.

It took me 1 minute and 36 seconds to decide on (E).

(A) "be based on" should be used instead of "be based in".
(B) "insight into" is mostly commonly used. Personally, I do not find "insight to" particularly jarring. But I need to fine tune my instinct.
(C) Pronoun "which" has "a child" as antecedent, which does not make sense.
(D) "the development as a child" does not make sense.

Based on is correct idiom, so A is out.
C is out, because "which are based on a broad spectrum of psychological theories" is supposed to modify therapy, instead it incorrectly modifies child.
D is wrong, development as a child is incorrect and illogical.
B uses wrong preposition "to". "insight into a child's development" is correct, so E is right.

OFFICIAL EXPLANATION

Art therapy and drama therapy, which are based in a broad spectrum of psychological theories, can give insight into the development of a child.

A. Art therapy and drama therapy, which are based in a broad spectrum of psychological theories, can give insight into the development of a child

This answer choice is grammatically incorrect because it uses an incorrect preposition. The correct idiom is: based on/ based upon.

B. Art therapy and drama therapy, which are based on a broad spectrum of psychological theories, can give insight to the development of a child

Although this answer choice corrects the original Preposition error, it creates another. The correct idiom is: give insight into.

C. Drama therapy and art therapy can give insight into the development of a child, which are based on a broad spectrum of psychological theories

Although this answer choice corrects the original Preposition error, it is illogical. The relative clause which are based on a broad spectrum of psychological theories is clearly intended to modify the noun Drama therapy and art therapy. However, it follows the noun child.

What helps us identify this question as a Relative Clause question as well as identify the mistake is the following Stop Sign: who, which, that, whose, whom
