One question about the parallelism in this question as the follow:

The sentence does not sound parallel to me. Isn't it supposed to be like this:

"As the etched lines ..... have become thinner and the chips’ circuits have become more complex...".

As the etched lines have become thinner and the chips' circuits [have become] more complex, the power of both the X and the Y has greatly increased.

As the etched lines on computer memory chips have become thinner and the chips’ circuits more complex, both the power of the chips and the electronic devices they drive have vastly increased.

(B) the chips’ circuits [have become] more complex, the power of both the chips and the electronic devices they drive has
