due south at 400 miles per hour for Cancun. At 4 p.m., Plane
B leaves the Kansas City airport heading due west at 600
miles per hour for Las Vegas. At 5 p.m., how far apart are
the planes?

at 5 PM A wud have travelle 800

B wud have travelled 600 by pythogreas theroem

they wud be 1000 miles apart

Ahhh.. I failed to notice that Plane B left at 4:00, not 3:00. It was difficult to solve without that fact.
