At a certain company, 25 percent of the employees are male and 50 percent of the

employees are sales staff. What is the number of employees at this company?

(1) Exactly 7 of the employees at the company are males who are sales staff.

(2) There are 16 more female employees than male employees at the company.

Let M be number of males

Let S be number of sales staff

M=25%

S=50%

1) M&S = 7

We cant find the total since we know nothing about what percentage of total employees is 7, and that just males and sales staff may not make up the entire employee set

2) F = M+16

and we know M is 25%

So F is 75%

3M = M + 16

M=8

Total employees=M+F=32

Sufficient --> Answer is (b)
