At a local modeling agency with 500 models, 300 have green eyes and th [#permalink]
Can be solved using double matrix

6FT <6FT TOTAL
GREEN 220 80 300

BLUE 20 200

TOTAL 400 100 500

First fill in numbers which are given, total green eyed 300, blue eyed 200, 6ft models: 400
Now we fill 100 , to make total 500. now 100 models less than 6ft.

10% of 200 is 20, so blue eyed < 6 ft 20
less than 6ft = 80,,

Required: 300-80 = 220, Green eyed+ 6ft

ANS: E (220)

Total: 500
Green eyes: 300
Blue eyes: 200

Models over 6 feet: 400
Models less than 6 feet: 100

Blue eyes models less than 6 feet: 0.10 *200 = 20
Green eyes models less than 6 feet: 80 (as total less than 6 feet tall models are 100)

Green eyes models over 6 feet: 300-80 = 220

Hope it helps..

90% of the blue-eyed models are over 6 feet tall = 200* .9 = 180
Rest 6 feet tall models = 220, who are green-eyed
E is the answer.
