At a store, the average price of German nutcrackers is \$225 while the average price of the total nutcrackers is \$205. Calculate the average price of non-German nutcrackers?

(1) The combined price of all the nutcrackers is \$2050.
(2) 60% of the nutcrackers in the store are German.

1. the combined price of all the nutcrackers is \$2050.
2. 60% of the nutcrackers in the store are German.

(1) NS, we could have any number of German nutcrackers and the rest would just have to be cheap enough such that 10 cost 2050.

E.g. 3 german = 675, the other 7 must = 1375, or 5 german = 1125, the other 5 must = 925

and clearly 1375/7 doesn't equal 925/5

(2) 0.6*(225) + 0.4*(x) = 205, solve for x and it is sufficient, B

Should be B: Stat 1 gives us
2050=225g+NX (#of non-german times average)
2050/205= 10
g+n= 10 types
3 variables = non sufficient

2: .6*225+.4*x= 205
solve and there you have it
