\$4 for the first two minutes and then \$1.50 for each additional minute

Let, Total Time = x minutes

Total Payment for x minutes = 4+1.5(x-2) = 40

i.e. x-2 = 24
x = 26

First two mins
40-4 =36
Next 24 mins
36/1.5 = 24

24+2 = 26 mins
