B school didn't receive official GMAT score report

Hm... could be a few things. It may be just a timing issue. The adcom likely pulled their scores/data on Jan 3rd or 6th and your score did not get included with it.

1. I would check to make sure that the program you chose to send the score to is the correct program (sometimes they have multiple ID's for FT, PT, EMBA, etc)
2. If all good there, then send a professional casual (not panicking in other words) email such as "Dear Adcom, thank you for your message about my application. Your school is my top choice and I appreciate your proactive message. I have double-checked my score report submission and my records indicate that the score report was delivered to [Name] program on January 7th, 2017. I am attaching the confirmation of score report delivery. Just in case, I am also attaching an unofficial score report. Should there still be an issue with my score report, please contact me as soon as possible so I have an opportunity to address any questions and contact GMAC about the delivery of the report and I will reorder it ASAP if necessary. Thank you and screw you too for sending this frigging message on a long weekend and giving me a heart attack. Sincerely sudhirgupta93!"

PS. Make it even more professional and committed to attending their school without being over the top. You can take your time over the weekend.

Make sure that the e mail id you used for creating/submitting an application is the same as the e mail id from which you have sent your GMAT score (the id that you use to login into mba.com)

This sometimes create a problem. So, check on this as well.

hi do we receive confirmation for successful score delivery? I sent a GMAT online score to a school from mba.com/my-account page and immediately received email stating that the score would be sent in 8 hours. But it has been a few days now, and I have not received any confirmation.

When you select a School to receive your Official Score Report, the School is not actually physically receiving anything - the School receives access to your Official results through www.mba.com. Considering the high number of Applications that many Programs receive, a School's Reps would likely only access your results AFTER they've reviewed your application AND decided to invite you to attend (at this stage, confirming that your Official GMAT Scores match the information that you listed in your application is more of an 'administrative step' - but it could be weeks or even months between the application deadline and when your information is actually accessed by the School).

Hi thank you so much for this information. After making payment to 'send' the score a school, can we actually see whether the access has already successfully been provided to the school? I have only received email notifying successful payment, but not successful 'delivery'. This is for GMAT online

You will not receive any sort of confirmation, but you could reach out to the folks in admissions to confirm whether they've received your scores.

Hi i'm also facing the same issue with multiple schools i've applied to. i doubled check the details from my end- at its all fine. I'm a bit worries since the application deadlines are coming very near.. not sure what to do - since the GMAT service team - has just sent an email asking me to ask the univeristies to contact their tech support email if they face any issues. One of the university's even replied back that they won't reach out to any such email and that i have to do it. however the gmat service team clearly mentioned to me that this email is only for the universities to contact them, and not for me. Any suggestions ? - Would really appreciate it at this point of time...

1) Date test taken
2) When scores shared with schools (at time of test or later)
3) any school in particular - this is just for reference..

test taken 2 years ago , however I reinstated the score a couple of months back. I have shared scores for 1 schools (texas mccomsbs) a month back, and 3 others more a couple week back. - (georgia tech/minesota carlson).

for mccombs i even resend my score a week back, not sure what to do now. How do i go about this

There are a few elements that can come into play:

1. if you cancel a score right away, the essay portion is not graded. Not sure if you took a test without the essay but when you resurrect the score, they will have to grade the essay by a human. This may take a little bit of time but usually more than a couple of weeks. Three weeks is very rare. That would be only on Christmas with a lot of people taking the test and available for reading.

2. The scores is pretty much instant but it’s supposed to take 24 hours. Oh it means is that there’s a new line in the school database system. And now A has access to your profile.

3. Many business schools have changed their approach to score submissions. They ask applicants to include their score on the application and some even ask for a PDF of the unofficial score report. They consider the applicant using that information and only verify the score after the decision, assuming it’s a positive decision.

4. at the same time, schools usually have a portal where they indicate a receipt of different application items. My guess is that there is a person assigned to check scores on a regular basis and mark them as such. Assuming that they bother with it before they release the decisions as mentioned above.

5. Sometimes there are also multiple departments and multiple schools though I have not seen or heard many people sending them to the wrong place. This is Highland likely with multiple schools so I do not think this is your problem.

6. Now that you have read all my rambling and random crap, here’s the reward and how to fix this 😂

I would take your unofficial score report, that’s the PDF print out that you can download. If you took the test online, you will not get it so you will need to use a screenshot instead also get a receipt or some kind of proof that you have ordered school reports and that you already sent them to a school. With dates clearly visible and preferably highlighted.

Email a very brief statement to business school. They don’t have time to deal with this stuff so if you want better chances of success, you need to be brief and to the point. You can say something along these lines,

Dear McCombs admissions committee, I have noticed on my application that my GMAT score 720(Q50, V37) sent to you on August 28, 2023 (confirmation attached) is still reported as “not received”.

As it has been over 4 weeks, I have contacted GMAC support about the issue on September 19 (email attached).

Meanwhile, I am attaching a copy of my unofficial GMAT score report, taken August 20, 2021, consideration of my application.

I attached the pdf and sent them an email 8 days back and this is the exact reply i got from them - "We have not received your official GMAT scores at this time and we can only update your application when they have been received officially from the testing agency."

its just so pathetic in terms of the service provided by the GMAC, for a company charging so much for everything yet service is lackluster compared to other testing agencies. I have no clue what do now

I would keep calling the folks at GMAC until you get a fruitful response from them.

If multiple schools are reporting they haven't received your score, fair to say the issue is not on their end. Consider mentioning how many schools (if not all) haven't received your score to customer service just in case. Might also be worth mentioning this was a score from 2 years ago that you reinstated. Perhaps you could persuade one of the schools that didn't receive your score to reach out to GMAC on your behalf as well.

Don't be afraid, most schools understand that such problems can occur and may grant extensions or consider your application once they receive the score report.
