E vs C anyone?\

I am confused both equally weaken this,

if major record labels choose only talents then it is justified that the conclusion is weakened

Explanation

Read stimulus

Bands that are signed to recording contracts with major record labels generate higher average record sales than do bands who sign contracts with independent labels. The characteristics of the record label, such as marketing expertise and promotional budgets, must be a more important causative factor in record sales than are characteristics of the band, such as musical talent and ambition.

Now Look C and E Options

C. Consumers state that musical talent is their top criterion in determining which records to buy. So it weakens the arguments and is Correct

Now see why E is wrong

E. Major record labels base their decisions to sign bands on characteristics of the band, including musical talent and ambition. Why only major record labels? why not all record labels do so? This option uses extreme language and covers a portion of the argument not complete argument so it is Incorrect

Hope it helps

I was also confused between choices C and A, but was able to eliminate choice E on the basis that even if record companies base their decisions to sign bands on characteristics of the band, the record companies expertise in advertisement may still play a bigger role than the band's talent.

I'm not sure if this reasoning is correct or not.
Can somebody help regarding this?

Not satisfied with the reasoning of C v/s E.
