Hello,

I have seen all three titled phrases used in dependent clauses. Which one is the correct phrase?

For example, I like to play sports, (be it/ whether it is/ whether it be) tennis, soccer or volleyball.

I will go with "whether it is" as it sounds better to me

I know its a dead discussion but I think.. be it shall be used when I have to pick from the options ....

whether it shall be used when there is some condition

I love playing , be it cricket, chess or soccer...
e.g I will play tomorrow. whether it rains or not ....

regards
