Best Verbal GMAT Books 2012

Yeah this actually sums up the immense "frustration" that I had for several months, when I started my prep. So many books for SC alone! Then there is CR, RC and entire Quant!

And it's not just about the "number of books" for SC. As bb rightly points out in his opening post on this thread, Grail does not go into depth; whereas MGMAT does not adequately cover the basics. How much information can one possibly assimilate from various sources, on the same topic. My prep just wasn't progressing.

That's when I came across EducationAisle Sentence Correction Nirvana and frankly bought it just because I thought at that point of time, I had nothing to loose. Thankfully things started making sense from then on, and order prevailed. Read the book end-to-end twice, participated on this form (first as an onlooker and then as a contributor) and ultimately managed a decent 38 in verbal. An awesome book in terms of coverage, depth, and relevance.

In fact, as I mentioned somewhere else also, 38 might not be the "best" score in verbal for many, but from where I started (I am a non-native English speaker), even 30 in Verbal looked like a dream a year back.

The one bright spot throughout my preparation was that Quant was never a problem. So, I knew verbal was only mountain I had to climb:).
