Ok so the internet can give some idea about a particular B school but I'm sitting half world away and it's not possible for me to tour my target schools. I want to know more about the schools like their culture, professors, teaching methods, how's the life like over there etc. i.e. just about anything that can be known about these schools.

1. Please name a few books I could read to know more, a lot more than can be found on the internet, about my target schools.

2. Please post a few links if you have them.

Thanks in advance.

go to http://essaysnark.blogspot.com. They sell strategy guides for applying to top schools. I believe they have ones for HBS, Stanford, Stern, CBS, Kellogg, Tuck, etc. The guides include a lot of the information you are seeking. Also much of what you want to find can't really be communicated in a book or a website, alone. You need to talk to current students. I suggest that you go to each school's website that you're interested in and look up the student clubs. They should each have a contact email address. Pick one or two clubs that you'd be interested in (maybe one professional, one social) and reach out to them. Tell them you are a prospective applicant and want to learn more about the school's culture, professors, and student life. Someone will get back to you. Hope this helps.

You can try: http://www.veritasprep.com/business-sch ... al-guides/
The guides cost money, but you can click on the school to get a brief overview. It used be free, and I read through a few, I think the summary does a good job in giving you 70% of the content in a concise manner.

I read the "MBA Game Plan." It gives you a concise overview of the top ~30 US schools.

I thought it was a decent introduction. From there, try to narrow down your list using information on here and on the schools' websites.

Thanks. Actually I've become a regular visiter at EssaySnark. Have you used any of their guides? Could you please share your thoughts about it?
