Hi team, here we go with the excel based business school dashboard. After a great response of the gmat prep analysis tool, I was thinking of some thing big with greater scope & covering a detailed area. Nothing could be more important than the b.schools' data itself, so I thought for an Excel based B.School Dashboard project. Here I am presenting the very first version to get some feedback from the community. Based upon your suggestions, I will plug in more data & functions & then will share the updated version in 2011.

Dashboard 1


1.I have gathered the data of these 17 schools only & will add new schools if required
Booth,Columbia,Cornell,Darden,Fuqua,Haas,
HBS,Kellogg,McCombs,MIT,Ross,Stanford,
Stern,Tuck,UCLA,Wharton,Yale

2. There are currently six areas of information that are presented in the form of graphs. The new information points can be added depending on your suggestions.
3. The data is taken from Business Week website.
4. Comaprison can be seen for 4 schools at a time.



Dashboard 2


1.Individual school info is presented.
2.Four categories are there showing the information regarding "total applicants vs enrolled class", "male vs female", "under grad majors" & Post MBa job functions of the most recent MBA classes of each school.
3.No comparison is shown here, instead all the info can be seen against a single school at a time.


School Rankings


1.BW & USN rankings of this decade have been presented in two separate sheets.
2.Two options are there, a single school ranking or ranking comparison between two schools can be viewed.



Specaility Rankings


1. US News speciality rankings for 2010 can be viewed.
2.Accounting, Finance, Entrepreneurship, Marketing, Management & Non-Profit wise rankings are presented.

If I can cast a vote - I would suggest keeping only one version of the file (otherwise, you get into issues with version management, etc). The compatibility pack works very well (I have used myself) and should be enough for everyone with office pre-2007.

The dashboard of International business schools is in pipe line. & yes we can add the avg post MBA salary of each school in the dashboard. I will do so in the next version.

Great work, Hussain.

Jaidev's suggestion of using an earlier version of excel (.xls instead of .xlsx) might be worth looking into. Many GC members may not have the latest version.
