By the 1600s, several communities of European immigrants had arrived on the east coast of North America, including the Spanish in Florida, the British in New England and Virginia, in New York came the Dutch, in Delaware the Swedes for many different reasons like religious freedom and greater economic opportunities.

The sentence talks about list of communities that had arrived on east coast of North America. The list has to be kept parallel. Also it talks about the 2 reasons for the arrival of these communities on the east coast of North America. Therefore the reasons have to be parallel & have to be introduced by such as.

Option B & E distort the meaning. Therefore have to be eliminated. IMO option D provides the best choice.
