""Did that a while ago. Basically, they all say mid-notification. After speaking with the schools directly, it seems most are still processing Consortium (even if regular invites have been sent). What's unclear is what happens if you don't get an interview. Silence till March?""

What's unclear? Again, use the consortium website and each school for reference. If you don't receive an interview invite then perhaps you will be one of the few applicants that is admitted without an interview. However, this would be an unlikely scenario given that at most schools all admitted students are interviewed. Also each school does have an admissions notification deadline so on that date you will no for certain whether admitted or not.

In terms of when you're notified about dings/admits, it can vary by school but I don't think that the schools' timelines presented on their websites are applicable to Consortium applicants. We are on a different timeline because the membership/fellowship decisions are made by mid-March (i.e. the schools have made their decisions about Consortium applicants by then, whereas with normal applicants the decision could be made at a later date, depending on the school's notification deadline).

I think you might be right because a few schools said i have to interview by like 26th of Feb if i'm a Consortium applicant.

Again, each school has on their website that date of notification concerning admit, deny or I suppose waitlist. That is the only thing that we know for certain. No one on this board can state when interview invites will go out or what happens if you don't receive an interview invite. And yes the schools notification deadlines concerning admission are applicable to consortium applicants. Lastly, Membership/Fellowship decisions are separate from admissions decisions.

The Membership/Fellowship decisions happen AFTER the schools have made their admissions decisions. The Consortium indicates that membership and fellowship decisions occur and we are notified by mid-March, so we can reasonably assume here that admissions decisions are made by then...

I am only speaking about the individual who was asking about "what happens if I don't receive an interview invite." The answer is no one on this board knows. However, we do know that each school has on their website when each applicant, including Consortium applicants, will be notified of an admissions decision. And of course the admissions decisions will be made before the membership/fellowship decisions since you can't get a fellowship if not admitted. One doesn't need to assume when admissions decisions are made since the information is on the each schools website. I applied to Tuck, UVA and Cornell which all have the notification deadlines on their websites. It seems the easiest thing for anyone to do is simply browse the school websites where they applied.

Just curious how people are preparing for their interview? Sandy Kreisberg seems to know a lot about Harvard but I just can't see myself paying someone all that money where the value proposition is questionable....lol

I personally don't think is necessary to use a consultant or coach. For the interviews I have basically prepared trying to know exactly what I would like to do specifically at each school, are there any tracks that or a focus that I like, where have their alumni gone, what teaching profile they have. For example, Tuck very community oriented and fit is a big thing. Tepper very quant heavy, etc. Then how would you contribute and what do you expect to get. I practiced in front of a mirror, with typical behavioral questions so that I knew what to answer yet not seem super rehearsed. So far I interviewed with three schools and pretty much all asked the same things.

The most valuable thing, talk to people students and alumni. They will tell you what they like, and most importantly what they didn't (Ask them!) that way you know where you can contribute!

I just realized I posted in the wrong thread. Yes, I am generally anti admissions consultants but since I was granted an interview to Harvard with my below average stats, I figured I would explore the possibility of using a consultant to help with my interview. Interviews are extremely important at Harvard. Apparently, they are used to screen people out.

The main thing the HBS students that I've spoken to have said is to know your resume cold.

Tuck still hasn't reached out to you?! My app was released to the schools on 1/16 and Tuck sent me a confirmation on 2/3. I wonder if you should reach out to them as it has been some time especially in light of reported, I don't know the veracity, issues with the consortium application system.

You're applying to Tuck and you're n the U.S., right? Why didn't you try to do a self-initiated interview?

Yeah, I am. I should have done a self-initiated interview but I ended up retaking my GMAT last minute so didn't have time. Hopefully if they like my application, they still decide to throw me an invite.
