#1 school gets to draft you
If they say no

#2 school gets to draft you

#3 school gets to draft you
If they say no

#4 school gets to draft you
If they say no

#5 school gets to draft you
If they say no

#6 school gets to draft you
If they say no

no fellowship for you!! but you can still be a member

If any one of your 6 schools say yes, then it immediately stops this chain. In other words, just like in the NFL, you cannot be drafted by more than one team. Unless you are Eli Manning and you cry to your agent about playing in San Diego. I guess the equivalent to that would be waiting until next year to do the draft again?

The school will only have the chance to draft me if am accepted in its program, right?

Sorry if I missed this everyone.

When is draft day?
Will UCLA release Consortium admissions decisions on the Round 2 date on their site (3/29)?

Future consortium applicant here...

Concerning your #1 school being able to offer you a fellowship before the draft, any idea on what the breakdown is of schools that offer a consortium fellowship to their applicants who rank them #1 with admission versus offering them after the draft? Basically I am asking whether schools tend to offer most of their fellowships upon admission versus after draft day. It would seem that offering sooner rather than later would make the chances of getting that applicant higher.

Yeah that kind of sucks, cause you get so much hope after getting the interview invite, and after the interview goes well...yet there is a 50% chance you get rejected. I'm from Chicago, and Booth would be the best of both world for my wife and me, but this one month wait is just driving us nuts ... i wish there were a way to fast forward :-)

I'm from Chicago and hear there is a really bad snowstorm there today. A lot of me colleagues attend Booth part-time but I never considered Booth or Kellogg.

Sounds like March 8th is draft day this year. From what I found on previous threads, Anderson will call admitted CGSM applicants a couple weeks earlier than Round 2's decision day. Probably because they need to make a decision before the draft. Let me know if you see anything else!

I don't know if ranking will factor in, but yeah it seems like you could hear from any of the consortium schools before the draft or in the days immediately following (especially if you receive a fellowship).

The school that you rank number one can offer you the fellowship first. Well, decision day is closer than we thought.

I asked about this at Tepper, I ranked them third, and their decision date is March 23rd. They told me I would only know if I got accepted before the deadline if they give me the fellowship, otherwise I would have to wait until the 23rd.

It's all starting to look grim for me. I still haven't heard back from any of my consortium schools except for Cornell

Could be wrong, but my impression was that no consortium offers were extended before the draft, regardless of what your ranking is. Schools can, and do, offer consortium applicants their internal merit scholarships/fellowships.

This is incorrect. Schools can offer Consortium applicants the Consortium Fellowship prior to draft day.

Depending on your school #1 school, some R1 applicants will be involved in the draft. For example the school I ranked #1 offered me a non-Consortium fellowship; however, since they prefer to evaluate both R1 and R2 Consortium applicants together before distributing Consortium fellowships, I'm still waiting for the news. So there's still a chance I could get the Consortium fellowship from that school around draft day.

I received my invite sometime last month and interviewed around Jan 21st. I applied R2. U.S. Applicant.

Draft day happens in March for all consortium applicants. If the school that you ranked #1 offered you a fellowship, then you already know how they will draft you in March.
