Sorry to hear about the WL, MBAGIRL, i hope you eventually get in. When did you submit?

Anyone out there submit around mid Jan, have interview complete, and are waiting on a decision?

Yes, I would recommend waiting until next time if you haven't submitted an application yet. Of course, it can't hurt to submit now but I think you'd be wasting your time. I got a ding from CBS, but interviews from H/S/W. Granted, I applied early Feb to CBS and didn't realize that I should emphasize the need for a summer internship (be sure you do that if you apply this late) - and my career goals/background make it pretty obvious that I don't need the internship. Oh well, fingers crossed for H/S/W :) Good luck to all you guys who are waiting to hear back from CBS!

Thanks for the advice. Though, I'm not sure I understand the point about emphasizing the need for an internship. Is it to separate myself as a September start vs a January start? I'm not a career switcher either so I don't necessarily need an internship, but it certainly helps in this economic environment. Good luck with your other schools!

Yes, if you don't emphasize a need for an internship then at this point I think they're running so low on available spots for Fall entry that they'll ding you and just tell you to apply for the J-term (like they did to me!). I could be wrong, though - that's just my best guess.

That's your call to make - I'm not encouraging it. If you really don't have a need for the internship then maybe just consider applying for the J-term in the first place!

If you legitimately need an internship to achieve your career goals, then forsaking it just to craft yourself as being a better fit for J-term is a really bad idea, IMO.

Like I said, I don't necessarily need an internship because my career goals are pretty defined. So maybe the J-term is the way for me to go anyway. But in your opinion, how much value added is an internship in terms of helping you to get a job upon graduation?

Just got my first ding. No CBS for me.

I don't feel quite as bad as I might otherwise because Georgetown just called 5 minutes ago to tell me I was accepted. Great timing.

I'm not sure if I would have stood a better chance had I not applied in late January - but word to the wise: don't apply in late January. :)

Good luck to everyone else!

Just got my ding as well - definitely hurts as CBS was my first choice, but I also was accepted today by Booth so at least that took some of the edge off. A little bit surprised b/c of the quick turnaround and b/c I consider myself a pretty good interviewer, so not sure what they were looking for. Cest la vie.

Just got the cryptic "your status has been updated" email

Submitted 1/10
Under Review 1/31
Interview invite 3/15

"We will contact you within 24 hours with interview scheduling instructions."

Just when I thought all hope was lost!

25/M/3.2/top3UK/730/4yrWE (2 consulting, 2 Corp Dev for Fortune 500), decent ECs

Got my ding yesterday. Definitely hurts (CBS being the only school I applied to) but learned a lot from the process and looking to put in a couple of Round 1 apps next year. Here is my timeline:

Submitted: 12/23
Under Review: 1/6
Interview Invite: 2/16
Interview: 2/28
Complete: 3/8
Ding: 3/14

I just got my ding today as well. I am really crushed.

700 GMAT / 3.9 GPA from top 10 US university / restructuring investment banking experience.

I did apply in early February so not sure if that is what hurt me. I was an idiot and did not know about the effective December "deadline". Does anyone have any feedback? Should I re-apply? How much can I realistically expect to change/improve over the summer?

Thanks in advance.
