I am from Kiev. Please add me too. 27, Female. GMAT 640 (hate it!)
Applied to Duke, interviewed and was rejected. Also got ding from MIT without interview...
Recognized the value of this fabulous site only after the second ding. Well, better later than never. Now consider European schools and maybe will put together application to IESE. A bit worried about the GMAT score. So, still hesitate. Chances are I will wait till the next application season retaking GMAT in the meantime... again...

Glad to see all of you here. I'm actually from Argentina, South America, but all my work experience after college has been in Central Asia, specifically Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Afghanistan, and Kyrgyzstan (where I currently live). I've also traveled through Ukraine and Russia.

I really like the ex soviet union countries! My wife is from Kazakhstan (was born in Tashkent, Uzbekistan), so even though I never studied Russian, I've been picking up words and lately I can communicate much more. I read all your posts and could understand most of it!

I still don't know what school to apply. I guess I'll research a little more, and after taking TOEFL and GMAT will see where I stand and what I can target. But most likely will be a bschool from the us, not the elite, since I'll be enrolling at the age of 31, and my work experience in in non profit. As I could see, it's not a HBS typical profile.

Anyways, glad to see all of you here. Anyone from Bishkek? Could meet up sometimes.

Finished my studies with GMAT. Passed it in late November 2009 and got 640 (Q45/V33).
I made 130 points improvement from my first attempt. And I am proud of my score.

I am seeking a good Masters in Finance degree and recently, I applied to:

BI Norwegian School of Management (admitted)
Norwegian School of Economics and Business Administration (NHH) (admitted)
Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University (denied)
TiasNimbas Business School (admitted with scholarship)
Vlerick Leuven Gent Management School (admitted with scholarship)

In September I prepare to go to Vlerick, as I dreamed about being admitted to this school.

Hi everybody! I am originally from Dnepropetrovsk, currently live and work in New York. I am going to visit Boston on October 2-5th (Sloan event) and Chicago on October 14-17th (Booth event) and will be very happy to meet in person anybody from the CIS.

Welcome! I think a few folks from GMAT club are going to the Booth Event (not sure about Sloan).

Attended MIT Ambassador event on Monday. The best thing - you don't have to submit your transcript from the school if you didn't graduate it (everybody knows how hard to get transcript in CIS )! Since I started in Ukraine, but graduated school in the US it solves one of my biggest concerns.
