For the sake of completeness, finally denied today, although it was a very professional and personable way to do it. I would encourage anyone reading through this thread for 2011 to think hard about Darden.

Hi, Can you elaborate on your comment above " think hard about Darden".

do you mean its not a good choice? What is the context of your comment.

Thanks.

I think he was trying to say that Darden is a classy and professional institution. I accepted but didn't go predominantly because I wanted to be in the Midwest. My gf lives in Chicago and Ann Arbor (Ross) is a lot closer than Charlottesville. Plus I wanted a better shot at career opportunities in the Midwest, which I thought I'd get at Ross. The 'academic rigor' of Darden also scared me away somewhat, but in all honesty you'll be working extremely hard your first term wherever you'll go. Then you'll get really focused on recruiting and realize that MBA grades dont matter, so academics will take a back seat. Darden is a top 15 school (any of which could arguably be in the top 10) and as long as you attend one of those schools, you should have decent career prospects. I'd focus more on your fit and whether you like the case method. It's a very solid school with brand name recognition.
