bakfed, thanks for the offer. I am looking forward to meeting the folks at Darden.

Just a two questions - are interviewees notified in advance who they will be interviewing with (student or adcom official)?

Any idea how the traffic is going to be during the mornings coming in from DC? I am planning to get in by 730AM, if I leave around 500AM from DC would I be fine?

Speaking from last year's experience, your interviewer's name will not be released to you until...you're greeted by her at the interview time. So no, you won't know who you're interviewing with (it very well can be student or adcom as a healthy dose of the class was interviewed by 2nd year students).

Traffic shouldn't be too bad; if anything, you're going against traffic since you're coming from DC and people are going to be heading into the DC area for work in the morning.

I am not sure if anyone shared this. But since there has been some amount of discussion on how interview updates go out i wanted to share/remind. basically there are still a lot more invites to come

Interview Invitations Update
Published on October 24, 2011 in Admissions. 0 Comments
Tags: application, darden, interview, invitation, mba, round 1, uva.
Later this week, the Office of Admissions will begin releasing interview invitations to students residing in the United States. Beginning the first week of November, interview invitations will begin to be released to students residing outside of the United States and in Hawaii. Please keep in mind that we invite applicants for interviews on a rolling basis (as we review the applications) all the way up to the decision deadline date.

For those who have received invites, within how large of a window were you able to schedule your interview? In other words, how many days were available to choose from?

Still waiting for mine. Even though I know majority of the invites are yet to go out, it's still nerve wracking. Waiting, waiting....

I got an invitation to interview this morning around 11am EST. I'm on the West Coast.

Once you get the invite to interview, you have 10 days to schedule an interview if you want to continue with the application process. As of this morning, when I logged onto the portal, the last day open for interview was December 2.

As far as I know, Tuck has a more traditional way of interviewing students - behavioral type (tell me a time...), talk about resume.

Darden, if it hasn't changed, does its interview more like a complete story-telling, beginning with interviewer's statement of "tell me about yourself". Surely, the interviewer will jump in when he/she has a question or wants clarification on something, but it's really a story that you're weaving together.
