Calling All Fall 2011 Yale SOM Applicants

Got the call at 5:18 EST today, M/740/3.0 from NYC. And no, my online status hasn't changed.

In too! Just got the call, probably from the same person as bschoolbrian I bet. Anyone know when the info will come about about grants/scholarships/etc?

Also... admitted student's weekend is the same weekend as Tuck! Ahhh! wtf am I going to do? I guess it's a good problem to have, so I won't complain.

Got my call around 11:30 this morning. Live in NYC. Jan 5 Invite. 3.5 years WE., 3.62 GPA, 750 (47Q/47V)

I talked to quite a few R1 admits and none of them had received a scholarship offer. One person tried to negotiate with Yale based on an offer they had from another top school with no success. I think it is totally worth a shot, they may very well value you more than that other person and offer you something, but their scholarship offers are very selective. I know other schools do negotiate and also have the option on the decline offer menu to indicate whether you are declining for financial reasons in which case they would get back in touch with you, but I have a feeling Yale is not one of those.

Just got an interview invite from Yale.

Since the invite came so late, I know that it'll be a long shot but I'm going to miss 100% of the shots that I don't take.

I've been pretty philosophical about this whole process all the way through, but I have to say I'm now a little bit on edge for this one. If I'm honest with myself I'd subconsciously expected to have heard by now. Still, must be patient, not long now...

I don't want to raise any false hope (god knows that you guys are suffering enough) but compared to previous 2 yrs, I don't think enough ppl were admitted in R2 yet. Hopefully, they will start calling soon to US admits.

And regarding the 5pm thing someone mentioned earlier, I think the lady meant that decisions will be posted at 5pm. I don't think she was implying that if anyone's admitted today, they won't be called. They always call US admits.

So cautiously, good luck everyone.

It's not even lunch time yet in New Haven and they were interviewing right up until yesterday - let's give them a chance. We've all worked on projects where we had to work like mad right up to the deadline, maybe this is just one of those times. Besides, this has been a very long process over many months for all of us (from booking the GMAT to studying, taking the test, applications, interviews and weeks of waiting already), so a few more hours doesn't seem so bad. Take a walk, watch the cricket, heck, even focus on something at work, and all shall be revealed in due course! (And I promise to follow my own advice )

Anyway, I'm sure we'll be seeing some good news from gmatclubbers before the end of the day... I'll look forward to coming back and reading some success stories later on!
