Re: Tuck 2012 - Calling All Applicants [#permalink]
FWIW, according to The Economist, Tuck is #1. Geez, now I really want to get in...along with 2,500 other people.

Re: Tuck 2012 - Calling All Applicants [#permalink]
How can an international student show his/her "love for Tuck" without visiting the campus? There are no admission events happening in my city either. I know it is very important to show your fit with this b-school in the essays. I have tried contacting Tuck alumni in my city (via Linkedin) but have not got a response yet. I am targeting the Nov round.

Any suggestions? I will also be writing to the consulting club and try and get more specific information from clubs of my interest.

Thanks!!

Check out tuck connect. It's not 100% accurate so to say - my alumnus was Spanish and I asked if they had any Scandinavians.. But the Spanish alumnus I connected with was great and really offered some insights. Alternatively I suppose you can contact their alumni relations office and ask directly to be out in touch....?

Where is the essay for scholarship? i cant seem to find it? Are you talking about the "Mention any special circumstance" thing at the end of the scholarship form?

Read the scholarship form carefully. There is a section that says "write a brief biographical essay" at some point. It doesn't stand out, so peruse the form.

Thanks a lot for the information! I checked out 'Tuck Connections' on their website. Its closed at the moment (though they mention that it will reopen in mid Sept... weird) I am doing the following as part of my 'research on Tuck'

a) Writing to clubs/student organization's of interest.
b) Trying to connect with an alum.
c) Reading Tuck website and blogs

What else can I do to so?

Thanks again!!

Just returned home from my visit up to Hanover. I was able to sit in on a Capital Markets class, interview, eat lunch with a few current students and tour the building.

I had been up to Tuck before in the summer, but going yesterday with classes in session was great.

All in all it was a great visit and I can't wait to finish up my Tuck app!

Heading to Hanover on Friday for my Interview. Anyone else in the area that day? Any things to check out while I am there? I got Murphy's on my list already, so anything else will be helpful

I'd go to Molly's over Murphy's, for food. Dirt Cowboy for coffee. Tuck is a bit far from Main Street, but it's nice to explore the main campus a bit.

The Canoe club also has real good food. As pointed out, definitely explore the main campus.

I just submitted my scholarship application via email. Has anybody received a conformation email? I wish Tuck had an automatic reply saying that your email has been received.

It took them about 24 hours to confirm my e-mail. I would not worry about it for now. They are probably getting a large influx. If you do not hear by this weekend, a follow-up would probably be useful at that point.

I sent my scholarship application in the old-school way, with an envelope and stamp. Did anybody who did the same receive an email confirmation?

I received an email within 24 hours of emailing my forms/essay. If your form doesn't list your email on it (I cant remember whats on the form), and you mailed it in via post, they probably don't know how to contact you. Financial aid dept is separate from admissions.
