Essays
Please respond fully but concisely to the following essay questions. Compose each of your
answers offline in separate document files and upload them individually in the appropriate
spaces below. Although there is no restriction on the length of your response, most applicants
use, on average, 500 words for each essay. There are no right or wrong answers.

1. Why is an MBA a critical next step toward your short- and long-term career goals? Why is Tuck the best MBA program for you? (If you are applying for a joint or dual degree, please explain how the additional degree will contribute to those goals).

3. Describe a circumstance in your life in which you faced adversity, failure, or setback. What actions did you take as a result and what did you learn from this experience?

4. Tuck seeks candidates of various backgrounds who can bring new perspectives to our community. How will your unique personal history, values, and/or life experiences contribute to the culture at Tuck?

5. (Optional) Please provide any additional insight or information that you have not addressed elsewhere that may be helpful in reviewing your application (e.g., unusual choice of evaluators, weaknesses in academic performance, unexplained job gaps or changes, etc.). Complete this question only if you feel your candidacy is not fully represented by this application.

6. (To be completed by all reapplicants) How have you strengthened your candidacy since you last applied? Please reflect on how you have grown personally and professionally.

I will be a Tuck student this coming fall. I'll be happy to answer any questions about the admissions process. Once I start, I'll be happy to answer questions about the school, academics, recruiting, etc. I will add one important note. The admission process is truly holistic. That is not a lie. I'll also make the first page more appealing once I get enough posts.

Visit the school. Also, Tuck has something called "Tuck Connections" that is good for prospective students. You sign up and a few days later they put you in contact with a current student/alumni with a similar background as yours. Another way to "show love" is to research all you can about the program.

Visit the school. Regarding Tuck, this phrase shall be written in large letters...

I'll also be attending Tuck this September.

I'll also be happy to answer any questions that you have so please feel free to ask them here of pm me for a quicker response.

Right now I'm only qualified to answer questions regarding the application process but once I'm actually attending the school I'll be happy to answer whatever I can.

Just so you know, I applied in the April round, was waitlisted, and then finally accepted in June.

Good luck to everyone who is applying!

I am in for round 1 as well.

Also, I am attending the Summer Visit Day on July 29. I'm heading up from DC, but am trying to figure out the best way to tackle the event. I will probably come up Thursday night since leaving Friday morning and trying to get to Hanover by 9:30AM leaves way too many opportunities to get held up and be late... but, I'm debating whether or not to stay Friday night too...

To those of you heading up on the 29th to visit: what are you planning to do? Getting there from DC is kind of a pain so if anyone is interested in splitting a rental car or something from Logan Airport, let me know.

I'm also heading up from the DC/MD area, but I'm just going to drive up on the 28th, then leave when the event is over on the 29th. My plan is to leave work early (12-1ish) on the 28th, drive up, check into the hotel that night. Check out in the AM, go to the event, then just leave and drive home after 5 or whenever the event ends. Its A LOT of driving in a short amount of time, but I don't really want another hotel night to pay for, so I just have to bite the bullet.
