DINGED... thats the end of a horrible app season... well atleast its over...

Sorry to hear the news, man I think I will be applying again this Fall if that makes you feel any better, it was just not a good season for me either.

I am in R2. So how do the logistics work now. I mean would we receive an application complete email prior to interview invites being released ? When is an interview invite expected based on R1 Stats ?

I don't believe HBS sends out app complete e-mails.

Based on the R1 timeframe, we are expecting interview invites to go out ~1 month after the R2 deadline, so...about two weeks from now Although since R2 has a higher # of applicants it may be a little later than that (pure conjecture).

Hey,

How do I update the front page?
I am waitlisted after being interviewed (instead of ding)

I just dont want to jinx anything!

Oops that was probably my bad, krispy...sorry about that! I updated the front page -- best of luck to you!

No biggie! Thanks for updating the front page.

So, realistically speaking, what are the chances of converting WL into Admit? I know I will have to almost treat this as ding and proceed with Booth.

Here are some links from Sandy (the HBS "guru" on the BW forum) that may shed some light on waitlist statistics:

After a small amount of digging, it seems to me that in a good year chances are about 10% and in a bad year they are 0%.

Congratulations to all those that got in - I've mostly been a lurker, vicariously experiencing a lot of your ups and downs.

Quick question - how does Harvard invite people for interviews - via email I would assume? Or is it a phone call?

Thanks.

From the BW Forum: http://forums.businessweek.com/bw-bscho ... ?msg=79007

Looks like the WL acceptance rate could be closer to 25% or so. Hopefully this holds up.

In for round 2 but apparently forgot to post it a couple weeks ago. Good luck to all, hopefully the blog is updated soon with some info on when interview invites will be released.

I just saw this on the BW forum...

Round 2 Interview Invitations
Date: January 26, 2009

Greetings...

Here's the plan:

On February 9 we will send out invitations to interview. The invitation will come in an email from HBS MBA Admissions and will contain detailed instuctions about how to sign up for interviews both on campus and in hub cities. Please be assured that if we see you haven't signed up for an intervew by the end of the week, we will contact you by phone...thus there's no reason to be anxious about lost emails, etc.

Shortly afterward, I'll update you here as to how many invitations have been issued and how many we expect will go out between February 10 and the April 2 notification date.

fuuuuuun. Do these invites come first thing in the morning or throughout the day?

BTW, I'm also in for R2, but I don't think I was added to the list. Could someone please update? thanks!

How long is the window for interviews at HBS, i.e., how many weeks can you schedule an interview over?

Thanks!

Good luck with those invites R2! Word to the wise: if you get an invite make sure to schedule your interview ASAP. I noticed the hub city slots filled up pretty quickly last round.

Hey R1 admits: Did you guys join the Facebook group? It would be fun to start putting faces (and well, names) to the names.
